The Collector's Edition FAQ
Why do Collector’s Edition rugs cost more?
Each rug in the Collector’s Edition is meticulously handcrafted for the discerning eye. Every square inch features over 50% more knots than rugs in our other collections. This elevated knot count requires significantly more time, precision, and skill—resulting in a more refined and labor-intensive piece.
Do these rugs look different than other hand-knotted rugs?
Yes. The designs appear more precise and detailed due to the higher knot density. Think of it like two paintings—one created with broad brush strokes (5/5 knot) and another with fine, delicate strokes (7/8 knot). The finer work captures more nuance, offering a level of detail you can appreciate both up close and over time.
How do they feel?
Exceptionally soft underfoot. The higher knot count creates a smoother, more luxurious surface—often described as walking on clouds.
Are these rugs more durable?
Yes. More knots create a stronger, denser construction. A higher knot count enhances durability, helping these rugs maintain their beauty for generations.
Do you offer samples from the Collector’s Edition?
Yes, samples are available for the majority of rugs in this collection.
Do you offer True to Hue™ (Benjamin Moore) color matching for these rugs?
No. Due to the intricate color palettes and detailed designs, True to Hue™ color matching is not available for the Collector’s Edition.
Do you recommend a rug pad for this collection?
Absolutely. A rug pad adds comfort, prevents slipping, and protects your floors while remaining hidden beneath the rug. It also helps extend the life of your handcrafted rug.
